A Message from Our Superintendent

Dear Friends,

I am blessed to serve at Central Christian School as superintendent, and it is an incredible honor to be partnering with you in the work ahead.  As we begin our time together, my ambition is to serve the school in a way that is pleasing to the Lord and worthy of the trust and confidence the CCS Board of Trustees and the Central community have placed in me.

I have already encountered your kindness, generosity, and helpfulness which have surpassed what I anticipated.  Thank you for your encouragement, prayers, and passion.  I am sincerely grateful to be a part of this community.

I am counting down the days until classes resume this fall.  One of the great blessings of my career in education has been building and maintaining relationships with students, teachers, staff, parents, pastors, and other co-laborers in Christ.  With great anticipation, I look forward to building those relationships at Central as we continue in our pursuit of excellence.

Over the next year, my goal is to direct all of our efforts toward the continued establishment of Central Christian School as Reno County’s premier Christian school as we desire to prepare and equip students to prioritize the worship of Christ in their lives.  In addition, our unwavering commitment to partner with Christian families to provide students with a distinctive Christ-centered education which integrates faith, life, and learning is our top priority.

As we embrace this shared vision, let us commit to one another that, in everything we do, whoever we are and whatever our task, we will pursue excellence for the glory of God.  As I consider this wonderful mission, I am reminded of the Thessalonian church.

As Paul writes to the Church in Thessalonica, he shares how thankful he is for the church, and how pleased he was to hear reports that the church was doing well.  Later, Paul would charge the Thessalonian church by stating, “excel still more” (1 Thess. 4:1).

This certainly is our cause, our commitment, and our charge: excel still more!  In your pursuit of Christ, excel still more!  In your labor, excel still more!  In your life, excel still more!  In your spiritual service, excel still more!  At Central Christian School, our challenge is to excel still more.

Striving towards excellence,

Dr. John Walker, Superintendent
